Silicone Applications on the Leg

What are Silicone Applications on the Leg?

Silicone applications on the leg; It is the process of using medical implants suitable for leg anatomy in order to thicken structurally thin calves, correct asymmetries or eliminate accidental deformities. With this method, the legs are given a permanent volume and aesthetic contour.

Asymmetric and Symmetric Leg Implants

Application Technique and Process

The prostheses used in these applications are medical products specially produced for the purpose of shaping the leg. The prostheses are placed over the calf muscle or under the fascia through a small incision made in the natural fold behind the knee using endoscopic methods. After the procedure, an average of 3-4 cm thickening is achieved around the leg.

The patient is not allowed to walk for about 12 hours after the operation. An average of 3 months is needed for the leg to take its final shape and the oedema to completely subside.

Silicone Implant Types and Selection

Leg aesthetics silicone applications There are basically two types of implants used within the scope:

  • Montellano (Asymmetric): It is the type that imitates the natural curve of the leg, the upper part is full and tapers towards the bottom.
  • Glicenstein (Symmetric): It is the type that provides a more even and proportional thickening.

Implant selection; patient Braces Leg is determined by the surgeon according to whether there is a problem. For bodybuilders, it is also possible to place an implant on the outside of the leg.

“In an aesthetic leg; the distance from the knee to the thickest part of the calf and the distance from the knee to the end of the calf should be in accordance with the Golden Ratio (1.618).”

In some cases, only silicone may not be sufficient. In such cases, Thick Leg Thinning “Composite” (Hybrid) aesthetic approaches can be applied by combining with techniques or fat injections.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the leg implanted?

Yes, it is done. Implants can be safely applied to add volume especially to structurally very thin legs (stick legs), patients with sequelae of polio or patients with tissue loss after trauma.

Can you put silicone in the leg?

Yes, “medical calf implants” are specially produced for leg shaping. Unlike breast implants, these implants are harder (cohesive) and resistant to pressure.

How many years does silicone last?

The prostheses used in leg aesthetic silicone applications are produced from materials that do not react with the body and have no risk of explosion. They are usually permanent for life and do not need to be replaced unless there are complications.
