Thick leg thinning  The treatment of leg thickness, which prevents wearing skirts and is a cause of social stress, is made according to the cause. The causes of thick legs are thick bone structure, overdeveloped muscles and usually structural excess fat tissue. Oil The thick leg problem is solved by removing the tissue or surgically thinning the muscles. In this regard, especially superdry In addition to the bloodless removal of fat, the method is very effective in obtaining a smooth surface and symmetry. Apart from these, important conditions to be distinguished are lymphedema and thick legs due to lipoedema.

thick leg thinning

Lymphoedema is a thickening of the legs that occurs after the lymph (fluid) vessels in the legs are impaired or underdeveloped. Although one leg is usually thicker in lymphoedema, it is sometimes seen in both legs. Legs are stiff. Swelling also appears in the feet. Orange peel skin appearance is often seen. There is no lubrication on the ankle bone. It leaves a mark when pressed with a finger. There is a feeling of heaviness in the legs and this increases towards evening and thickening decreases with rest. The skin on the back of the foot cannot be held between two fingers. This is a typical finding.

Lipoedema on the other hand, it reveals an interesting form of fat in the legs. In structural lipoedema, the ankles are usually thinner. The orange peel skin is not visible and the swelling is soft. It usually starts in adolescence and may run in families. Sometimes there is tenderness. The upper and lower legs as well as the buttocks are enlarged.

Especially these two conditions should be differentiated. Treatment without differentiation will be wrong and cause other problems. Lymphoedema treatment is very different. Treatment is performed to remove the fluid that causes the thickness in the legs that support the lymph vessels. In lipoedema, it is a good solution to remove fat, especially with the superdry method.
Lymphoscintigraphy is a very important method in the diagnosis of lymphoedema. MRI is useful in differentiating these problems. Fluid accumulation and skin thickening are diagnostic and recommended before the procedure.

Thick Leg Thinning

Apart from these, systemic diseases (such as kidney, heart and liver diseases) and vein problems (such as deep vein insufficiency) can also cause thick legs, but these are much easier to distinguish. Patients in this group present with complaints other than leg thickening.

THICK LEG THINNING METHODS

As can be seen in the picture above, there are four basic techniques effective in the problem of thick leg thinning.

1. Superdry technical (This method, which is effective in thick leg thinning, is preferred only for leg thickness due to fat).

2. Myneurotomy (If the cause of thick legs is muscle, it is possible to cancel the muscles that cause it, since the muscles cannot work while standing in place, they become quite thin)

3. Endoscopic muscle shaving (If the cause of thick legs is muscle, it is an effective method, the muscles are shaved to the desired thinness)
